Covid19 Update:
Well, ladies, here we are. As expected, because of NZ being at Level 4 and under Isolation, this Wednesday and for the duration of our study we will not be able to meet at church as a large group, or meet in our small groups. I want to take the opportunity to thank you for coming for our first three sessions, it was beautiful while it lasted. Thank you also for the groups who provided such beautiful food. And Thank you also to those who helped make everything run smoothly, I really appreciate it. A special thank you to Lorraine, who helped me every night with coffee/dishes.
In light of all that is going on, I want to encourage you to go back to the pages on fear and memorise those scriptures. Breathing Room now is quite interesting isn’t it? In a matter of minutes we may feel like we now have all the breathing room in the world with commitments cancelled. Or we may feel like we have none at all, especially for those with kids at home. I want to encourage you to find, not what you “lose” in your new situation, but what you now may “gain.” I still hold onto the image that came to me while doing my devotional one morning two weeks ago, that trusting God in all of this looks like riding on an inner-tube down a rapid raging river. We don’t know where we are going, we don’t know what is to come but we can hang on to God, hold on tight to Him just like our inner-tube. We can’t look around or ahead to find our peace. Our peace can only be found in holding onto Jesus. Then, and only then, can we really find Breathing Room. Maybe this time will be as good a time as any to discover what you truly can let go as we embrace a simpler way of life.
Moving forward we can still do our daily devotionals, watch the weekly videos, and “meet” together virtually. Every Wednesday (or a day that suits your group to watch), come to this page of our website to watch the video pressing the corresponding link below. For each week I have added a song, ice breaker questions to ask your group, your weekly practical breathing room tips and some inspiring images. Below I have added some more music in light of these troubling times.
I am praying for you every week, praying for those who continue to work, especially those in medical services, and for those who are at home navigating these new waters.
Arohanui,
Neeley
