  1. What interested you in this study? What do you hope to learn, and how do you hope to change because of it?

  2. Do you know someone who embodies, “Rejoice in the Lord Always.” What does this person say or do to exude this attitude toward God?

  3. After watching the video, what questions come to mind?

  4. Why do western world countries suffer from anxiety more than people of lesser developed countries?

  5. Scripture includes many verse that can bring comfort and peace to the worried hear. (Like those above). What prescription does each passage give for anxiety?

  6. How does the world teach us to cope with anxiety? How does the world’s solution for anxiety differ from God’s solution?

  7. Have you ever expected special treatment from God? If so, how did it affect your relationship with him when you experienced hard times?

  8. Read 2 Corinthians 11:23-28. What trials did Paul face?

  9. Read 2 Corinthians 12:1-10, where Paul talks about a constant trial God would not take away. What is God’s response to Paul’s prayer in verse 9?

  10. How does God display his strength when we are feeling weak or anxious?

  11. The first prescription Paul gives for anxiety is this”
    Rejoice in the Lord always.” Hundreds of years before Paul wrote his leter, the prophet Habakkuk wrote similar words. Read Habakkuk 3:17-19. How does he describe God in these verses? What names does he use for God? Why does Habakkuk say he can rejoice in God though the fig trees wither and crops fall>

  12. If you want to rejoice in God regardless of your circumstances, it is cruicial that you learn to trust in his soverignty. What prevents you from trusting in the soverignty of GOd: How does trustin in His sovereignty affect they way you percieve life’s trials

  13. How has all this helped you as it relates to Covid 19 and the isolation/shutdown/etc?

Group Activity:

Fear sees a threat, while anxiety imagines one. Take a minute to write down 3 “What Ifs” that are causing you anxiety—worries, weighing you down. Once you are finished, fold up the piece of paper and put in an envelope (if you have one). Write it on it and keep it somewhere you will remember or give to someone to give back to you…at the end of the study, you can reevaluate where you are in regards to peace in those areas.
